Well frankly, the game was shite. The 'retro' graphics were nothing more than things drawn with slightly blocky edges. The levels were certainly not 'fun' and nor was the game 'different.'

It was a crappy copy of Super Mario Bros., complete with crappy copies of Super Mario music. Oh, and all the sounds were basically Super Mario.

Overall, there is very little that was good or enjoyable about this game. The medals were... okay, I suppose, although -- just like the rest of the game -- none of the medals were particularly original.

The boss level was a load of crap, and the levels before it weren't much better. The music was pretty awful, but at least you didn't just steal Mario music like you did with the sound effects.

It's really fun to see a physics-based building game that really requires you to think. It's a great game, fun yet can be challenging. Oh, and the music choice was top-notch as well: nothing to do with the game, but it was good even on the infinite repeat loop.

Finally, no review of this type of game would be complete without a little shameless self-promotion... so here's my rather simplistic level design:

"Fun"

Don't get me wrong, I love the Bloons Tower Defense series. And this one certainly is the best BTD game so far.

Unfortunately, you lose points for 3 main things.

First, it gets boring after a while -- there's only so long you can play the same game over and over again before it gets repetitive. The new units and upgrades keep the game fresh, but all in all, it's not much different from older games.

The second and third things you lose points for involve the level editor. First, you make me go to a third-party site to use the level editor instead of including it here on NewGrounds. And secondly, you try to make me *buy* the editor -- there's nothing that pisses me off more than being asked to PAY for a flash game.

This is probably one of the best, most extensive, most in-depth, and best made flash games I've ever played.

There were very few bugs, and the game reminded me of many other classic PC resource-management games like Star Trek Armada and Command & Conquer.

That said, you would have received a perfect 10/10 from me.

BUT... you lose 3 points because many of the missions and all of the skirmish levels require me to pay out money. Buying stuff for a flash game? That's a really low, cheap way to make money.

It reminds me a bit "Little Wheel" only in black and white rather than sepia :P

It's a fun, easy-to-play, game although I'm not too sure what the function of the crouch button is.

It is a fun, addicting game. But it can get really frustrating sometimes when you have a colour you can remove but you just *really* needed a different colour!

Also, the music is phenomenal - it has a very nice, soft, dreamlike sound.

I'll be honest... graphically, this game is hideously ugly.

It's a pretty boring game and the controls feel slow and unresponsive.
